About

The "Au fil de l’eau" (Along the Water's Edge) project is an initiative of the City of Longueuil, a municipal administration committed to developing a sustainable living environment. This microsite stems from the observation that the city's extensive archives were not being consulted, coinciding with the climate emergency linked to the heavy rainfall events of recent years. The municipality was therefore seeking a solution to transform this wealth of factual material into a mobilizing tool for water management.

Mandate

Our role was to transform these archives, documents, and texts into immersive and accessible narratives. We approached this challenge by structuring a three-part narrative progression, past, present, and future, to connect Longueuil's heritage to the resilience challenges of today and tomorrow. This solution unifies historical awareness and calls to civic action through a fluid and educational interface.

Storytelling

To bring the topic of water to life, our team implemented a narrative strategy where each era is depicted through custom illustrations and evocative animations. The experience uses transitions to naturally guide the user through the centuries. At the end, we integrated thematic challenges and a pledge to encourage citizens to do their part. This structure transforms simple consultation into action, empowering the public to take ownership of resilience solutions in the face of climate change.
